The method

How Shilajit Gold Resin is made

Raw Himalayan shilajit is purified with triphala (amla, harad and baheda), the classical Ayurvedic shodhana method, then blended with Ashwagandha, Safed Musli, Shatavari, Gokhru and gold ash. Every batch is tested for fulvic acid and heavy metals before it is sold.

  1. High Himalayan rock faces in summer

    Step 1 of 4

It seeps from the rock in summer

Shilajit is a dark, sticky resin that seeps out of crevices in Himalayan rock in the warm months. Raw, it carries grit, plant matter and minerals from the rock it came out of.

  2. Cold spring water running over stone

    Step 2 of 4

    It is purified with triphala

The raw resin is purified (shodhit) in triphala, the classical mix of amla, harad and baheda, and filtered so the grit and plant matter stay behind.

  3. Resin thickening in shallow trays under the sun

    Step 3 of 4

It is blended with five ingredients

The purified resin is blended with Ashwagandha, Safed Musli, Shatavari, Gokhru and Aurum (gold ash). The batch certificate checks each one against the label.

  4. A laboratory sample being prepared

    Step 4 of 4

It is tested, batch by batch

Every batch is tested for fulvic acid and for lead, arsenic, mercury and cadmium. Batch 2658: 76.5% fulvic acid, and all four metals within the Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India limits.

Questions about this

How is this different from plain shilajit resin or capsules?

Plain resin is shilajit on its own. This is shilajit purified with triphala and blended with Ashwagandha, Safed Musli, Shatavari, Gokhru and gold ash, so it is a formulation, and the label and the batch certificate list every ingredient. Most capsules hold a dried extract mixed with a carrier, which is why the milligram figure on their label says little about what you are taking.

How do I take it?

A pea-sized portion, about 250 mg, measured with the spoon in the box. Dissolve it in lukewarm water, milk or green tea and drink it after a meal, twice a day. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, on any medication or managing a health condition, ask your doctor first.

Is it tested for heavy metals?

Yes, every batch, because shilajit comes out of rock and heavy metals are the real risk with it. Batch 2658 was tested for lead, arsenic, mercury and cadmium and passed the Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India limits; its fulvic acid content was 76.5%, against a specification of more than 60%. The certificate of analysis, issued by the manufacturer, Sukhayubhava Pharmaceutical, is on the lab reports page.
